BIMaudit · Automated auditing of IFC (BIM) models (ISO 19650 / openBIM)

BIMaudit is an online platform that automatically and deterministically audits BIM models in IFC format (IFC 2x3 and IFC 4) against a public standard aligned with ISO 19650 and the openBIM open format from buildingSMART. It delivers a professional report with a compliance traffic light, a score per category and a verifiable QR code.

You can audit an IFC model for free from the homepage (up to 30 MB, no account needed) or create a free account and get 3 courtesy audits. BIMaudit does not store your models.

Frequently asked questions

What is BIMaudit?

BIMaudit is an online platform that automatically and 100% deterministically audits BIM models in IFC format against a public BIM standard aligned with ISO 19650 and openBIM (buildingSMART). It delivers a professional report with a compliance traffic light, a score per category and a verifiable QR code.

What is an IFC model audit?

It is the compliance review of a BIM model: it verifies that naming, levels (storeys), classification, materials, properties per Level of Information Need (LOIN) and coherence with the project stage meet the standard, before the model is delivered to the client.

Can I try BIMaudit for free?

Yes. From the homepage you can audit an IFC model for free with no account (up to 30 MB) and instantly see its compliance traffic light. In addition, creating a free account gives you 3 courtesy audits, no credit card required.

Which IFC formats and versions are supported?

It accepts IFC models in both the IFC 2x3 and IFC 4 schemas, as either .ifc files or compressed .ifczip files.

Does BIMaudit store my models?

No. Models are processed only to run the audit and are then deleted automatically. BIMaudit does not store users’ models.

Which standard is used to audit the models?

BIMaudit audits against a public BIM standard aligned with the international standard ISO 19650 and with the open IFC format from buildingSMART (openBIM). The reference profile is the Chilean PlanBIM public-projects standard, and an ISO 19650 / LOIN profile is also available.

Is the compliance audit the same as clash detection?

No. The compliance audit reviews the quality and standard-compliance of a single model. Clash detection between disciplines is a separate module, with output in PDF, CSV and BCF 2.1.

Does an artificial intelligence decide the result?

No. The compliance verdict is based exclusively on verifiable rules over the model, through a deterministic and reproducible engine. Artificial intelligence only writes explanatory text; it never decides compliance.
